Chixculub used to be a sleepy fishing town in near the town of Progreso. It has one of the most calm beaches and atmosphere of the place is still laid back except for some tourists and ex-pats who have decided to visit or stay there. Today however Chicxulub is starting to claim its place in scientific history. Sixty five million years ago, scientists claim that a meteor hit Chicxulub which affected the some species on earth.
Alamos
Sonora Mexico is where tourists visit the Alamos Historical Monuments.These are a group of 188 structures in the Colonial City of Alamos that were declared monuments by President Zedillo in the year 2000. They’re the oldest sites in Mexico with scores of 17th and 18th century mansions that were built and later abandoned. After World War II, some of the colonial sites were restored.
Acapulco
Acapulco is one of the oldest resort towns in Mexico. This is because it’s a bay area made famous even in the 1800′s during the height of the worldwide Galleon Trade. Today, however, Acapulco has transformed itself into one of Mexico’s tourist haven. It’s bay front, now called the “La Costera” is where most of the beach resorts are spread. Most of the beaches on the Costera are called “Hornos” or “afternoon beaches” mainly Papagaro, Tamarindos and Icacos. There is also Caleta and Langosta beach which are the beaches on the cost of the Ocean.
